Premature ejaculation is something that happens to a number of men but many of these guys are not knowledgeable about the condition and what it means.
Picture the scene, you are in bed with a partner – you are both horny and excited to get started. You might be a little TOO excited and end up ejaculating before your lover has reached climax. They are frustrated but not as frustrated as you are with yourself! If you suffer from premature ejaculation(PE), you will know the range of feelings, that go with this situation all too well.
Lasting longer in bed is something that many guys want to do and that is entirely possible, even if you suffer from premature ejaculation. Let’s take a further look at the myths about PE so that you can separate fact from fiction.
1.Thinking that ‘If I try harder, I will be able to come’.
Simply concentrating on NOT coming too soon is not going to make a difference, in-fact this can often put you under more pressure which can cause an even sooner explosion of premature ejaculation take place. If penetration is what is making you ejaculate early, concentrate on giving your partner a good time before you insert your penis into them. If your partner is loving, supporting and you fully communicate your feelings, they will know that your PE is through no fault of your own. They will be even more understanding if you can get them off in other ways before you ejaculate (through use of fingers, mouth.etc.)
2.PE has a time limit
Whether you orgasm in 2 minutes or 10 minutes, premature ejaculation doesn’t really have a time limit. It’s the fact that you are ejaculating before you or your partner are ready, that is what makes it PE. The average “normal” man, should be able to control when he comes (to a degree!) So if you really struggle to do this and you feel like your penis has a mind of its own, it can be considered premature ejaculation.
3.You need medication to fix the problem
It is true that there are certain types of medication out there that can help your premature ejaculation but by taking them, you are not getting to the root of the problem and will not get rid of it for good. There are many ways that you can cure your PE without the need for drugs or anything else evasive to the body. These methods include a change in diet, reducing the amount of times that you masturbate and counselling to cure possible anxiety. Before you resort yourself to medication, you should definitely look at what other options you have because these will be more effective in the long term.
4.Premature ejaculation is a “new” problem
A lot of people think that PE hasn’t been around for very long but this is not true. Premature ejaculation has probably been around for as long as penises have, which is obviously a very very long time! In the 1940’s, a study showed that around 75% of men ejaculated within two minutes of having sex. Yikes, that’s a even higher percentage than what it is now, so hopefully that little fact will make you feel not so alone.
5.Wearing two condoms can cure the problem
Many guys say that putting on two condoms, one over the other, can cure the issue of premature ejaculation. There is absolutely no evidence that this is true and using condoms in such a way will not be at all pleasurable for yourself or your partner. This is a really silly myth and you will see why if you have actually tried it. Condoms can either become too tight or loose this way and might even result in STD’s, infection or even pregnancy!
6.Only young people suffer from premature ejaculation
Many people are wrongly under the assumption that PE is a condition that only young, horny teenagers suffer from which is quite frankly laughable. You can develop premature ejaculation at ANY age because there are so many possible causes for the condition. If you get it when you young, this doesn’t mean you will have it forever. Then again if you DON’T have it when you are younger, you could go on to develop it at any age. Stress is a big reason why coming too early can happen and men can be stressed at different times during their life.
7.Premature ejaculation happens every time you have sex
Believe it or not, PE is really varied and you won’t necessarily have it every time you have sex. You might for some reason suffer from premature ejaculation during the morning but be fine at night time. Many men who date several women, find that they perform just fine with a certain woman but struggle in regards to lasting longer in bed with another woman. Don’t get scared to ever have sex because of your condition. The more you practice, the higher the likelihood is that you can learn to control the condition and hopefully stop it completely over time.
8.It doesn’t mean you are weak
Many men really come to loathe themselves because of their premature ejaculation and see themselves as “weak” and not manly, but this is not true. So many guys in so many different walks of life get PE at least once during their lifetime and that is fine. It has absolutely nothing to do with how much you do or do not want your partner and best of all, it’s treatable! If anything, it shows that you love sex which is definitely manly.
I hope that these 8 common myths about ejaculation have told you some things that you weren’t aware of about the condition. If you suffer from PE, remember that you are not alone and it doesn’t have to be this way forever. Lasting longer in bed is entirely possible by trying different methods and discovering what works for you. By trying to relax in bed and concentrating on foreplay, you can have a healthy and happy sex life once again – hopefully making premature ejaculation a thing of the past.
